Gas Leak at POSCO Pohang Steelworks Sends Three Employees to Hospital

(Sejong=Yonhap Infomax) Eun Byul Yun – A gas leak occurred at POSCO's Pohang Steelworks.

According to POSCO and related sources, a gas leak was reported at the STS 4 steelmaking plant at POSCO Pohang Steelworks in Pohang, North Gyeongsang Province, at approximately 13:30 KST on the 20th. Three employees who were cleaning around the facility collapsed and were transported to a hospital.

Of the three, two were reportedly found in cardiac arrest at the scene.

The exact cause of the incident will be determined through an investigation by fire authorities.
