(Seoul=Yonhap Infomax) Jae Heon Lee – Genesis, the luxury automotive brand under Hyundai Motor Group, is accelerating its brand expansion for the next decade with a focus on Luxury High Performance.
Hyundai Motor Group announced on the 21st that Genesis held the 'Magma World Premiere' event at the Circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet, southern France, unveiling its first high-performance model, the GV60 Magma, for the first time.
The GV60 Magma is the first mass-produced model developed from the 'GV60 Magma Concept,' which Genesis introduced last year to officially mark its entry into the high-performance segment. The vehicle delivers a maximum torque of 790Nm, accelerates from 0 to 200 km/h in 10.9 seconds, and reaches a top speed of 264 kph—making it the most powerful electrified production model in the Genesis lineup to date. The GV60 Magma also features a range of exclusive Magma-specific functions, a dedicated virtual sound system, and a unique interface, providing drivers with a differentiated driving experience.
The interior combines premium materials with a sporty aesthetic. Key areas such as the seats, door trims, and center console utilize suede-based Chamude materials. Depending on the interior color scheme, orange and gray stitching, quilting, and seat belts are applied to express the unique identity of the Magma edition.
The GV60 Magma will be rolled out sequentially in global markets, starting in South Korea in January next year, followed by launches in Europe and North America. In Korea, the vehicle will be on display at Genesis Suji from the 10th of next month.
According to Hyundai Motor Group, the GV60 Magma represents the culmination of Genesis' technological prowess and luxury philosophy built over the past decade, and serves as a symbolic model signaling the brand's commitment to innovation centered on 'Luxury High Performance' for the next ten years.
Genesis defines Luxury High Performance not as a mere competition of output or speed, but as a blend of refined emotion and sophisticated experience, delivering effortless performance that is naturally felt throughout the driving experience. This approach extends the brand's design philosophy of 'Athletic Elegance' into the high-performance domain, emphasizing balanced power, finely tuned driving dynamics, and harmonious driver-vehicle connection over excessive stimulation or tension.
