(Seoul=Yonhap Infomax) Min Jae Lee – Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla Inc., stated that most people are unaware that Tesla has maintained an advanced AI chip and board engineering team for years.
In a job posting shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account on the 23rd (local time), Musk wrote, “Most people don’t know that Tesla has had a cutting-edge AI chip and board engineering team for years.”
He added, “This team has already designed millions of AI chips, which have been deployed in Tesla’s vehicles and data centers.”
Musk emphasized, “Thanks to these chips, Tesla has been able to secure a leading position in real-world AI.”
He further explained, “The current version installed in our vehicles is AI4, with AI5 set to launch soon, and development on AI6 about to begin.”
“Our goal is to bring a new AI chip design to mass production every 12 months,” Musk said. “Ultimately, we expect to manufacture more chips than all other AI chipmakers combined.”
He concluded by inviting applicants to “send an email outlining three key accomplishments that demonstrate exceptional ability,” noting a particular interest in “applying state-of-the-art AI to chip design.”
