(Seoul=Yonhap Infomax) Myung Sub Byun = SK Ecoplant Co., a leading South Korean environmental and construction solutions provider, announced on the 24th that it held the '2025 ConTech Meet-Up Day' awards ceremony at the Grand Walkerhill Hotel in Gwangjin-gu on the 21st.
'ConTech Meet-Up Day' is an open innovation competition organized by SK Ecoplant to identify and support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and startups with innovative technologies. Now in its sixth year since its launch in 2020, the event aims to foster collaboration and technological advancement in the construction technology sector.
SK Ecoplant led the event, with co-hosts including the Innopolis Foundation, Chungnam Regional Office of SMEs and Startups, Seoul National University, Hoseo University, Hannam University, Korea International Trade Association, Seoul and Chungnam Centers for Creative Economy & Innovation, SK Securities, and Synergy IB Investment, representing public, academic, and investment sectors.
This year’s competition attracted a total of 120 technology submissions in the semiconductor and artificial intelligence (AI) fields. After a rigorous evaluation process—including document screening and two rounds of presentations—SK Ecoplant selected six winning technologies: two in semiconductors, three in AI, and one in energy.
The final award-winning technologies (companies) are as follows:
- Ultra-pure water process degassing membrane manufacturing technology (Semiconductor, CepraTech Co.)
- Eco-friendly construction material manufacturing solution utilizing semiconductor wastewater sludge (Semiconductor, H&W Co.)
- High-efficiency carbon capture and compact facility construction technology utilizing rotational force (Energy, CarbonValue Co.)
- AI and robotics-based on-site material transport solution (AI, Gore Robotics Co.)
- AI-based drawing analysis, review, and automated design solution (AI, 2Feet Co.)
- AI solution specialized in preventing serious industrial accidents (AI, Mithril Co.)
Notably, Mithril Co. and CepraTech Co. were recognized as outstanding awardees, receiving commendations from the Minister of SMEs and Startups and the Chairman of the Innopolis Foundation, respectively.
The award-winning companies will collaborate with SK Ecoplant on joint research and development to further advance and commercialize their technologies. They will also be eligible for government funding and external investment support from the event’s co-hosting public, academic, and investment institutions.
