(Seoul=Yonhap Infomax) Yoon Woo Shin – The Korea Investment Corporation (KIC), South Korea’s sovereign wealth fund, has commenced the second-half session of its ‘International Finance Academy’ aimed at cultivating overseas investment professionals.

KIC announced on the 24th that a faculty comprised of its own portfolio managers and leading investment experts from various sectors will deliver a total of eight lectures.

The opening lecture for the second half, held on the same day, addressed “Global Sovereign Wealth Fund Asset Allocation Strategies and Management.”

Through November 27, the program will focus on alternative investment topics, including private equity (PE), structured credit, risk management, and contract comprehension and negotiation strategies.

Timely subjects reflecting recent domestic and international financial market variables—such as US investment tax issues and the impact of renewed Korea-Japan relations—are also included in the curriculum.

Park Il-young, CEO of KIC, stated, “We continue to support the development of the domestic financial industry by leveraging our overseas investment experience and global network,” adding, “We will further strengthen the International Finance Academy curriculum to foster global investment professionals.”

KIC established the International Finance Academy in 2022 and has since trained over 1,200 participants. Starting this year, the program has expanded to two sessions annually, with courses offered in both the first and second halves.
