(Seoul=Yonhap Infomax) Yun Gu Lee – Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance Co., South Korea's leading non-life insurer, announced on the 25th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Naver Pay, the payment platform of Naver Corp., to jointly develop big data-driven digital lending services.
The two companies plan to combine their respective financial and payment data to create differentiated products and offer a wide range of services distinct from traditional financial institutions. By integrating Naver Pay's alternative data—such as payment records and shopping history—into personal credit assessments, the partnership aims to go beyond conventional credit evaluation methods that rely solely on card and loan transaction data.
Additionally, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance and Naver Pay will collaborate on developing customized financial products, enhancing customer service through big data analytics, and pursuing joint marketing initiatives.
A Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance official stated, "We intend to leverage the strengths of both companies to deliver unique services," adding, "Our goal is to create a successful synergy model that elevates the level of customer service."
