(Seoul=Yonhap Infomax) Hak Seong Kim = Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., South Korea's largest company by market value, announced its annual executive appointments on the 25th.
The company promoted a total of 161 executives, including 51 Executive Vice Presidents, 93 Vice Presidents, 1 Fellow, and 16 Masters. This marks an increase of 24 promotions compared to last year’s 137.
This move reverses a four-year trend of declining promotion numbers, as the company had reduced the number of promotions each year since 2019.
Samsung Electronics stated, “In order to proactively respond to rapid shifts in the industry paradigm and secure leadership, we have appointed leaders who will drive future technologies in areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and semiconductors.” The company added, “Despite an uncertain business environment, we maintained a performance-based personnel policy by promoting talent who delivered results in key business areas.”
With this round of executive appointments, Samsung Electronics has completed its management reshuffle and plans to announce further organizational restructuring and position assignments in the near future.
