Samsung Display Promotes 23 Executives, Including 8 Vice Presidents and 13 Executive Directors

(Seoul=Yonhap Infomax) Young Sook Yoon – Samsung Display Co., a leading South Korean display panel maker, announced on the 25th that it has promoted a total of 23 executives in its regular 2026 executive reshuffle, including 8 vice presidents, 13 executive directors, and 2 masters.

The company stated, "We have appointed individuals who have demonstrated outstanding management performance and contributed to strengthening market dominance and securing new growth engines through differentiated technology development."

Among the key promotions, Kang Tae-uk, head of Process Development at the Small and Medium-Sized Display Business Division, was named vice president. Kang was recognized for leading the development of advanced technologies that enhanced OLED performance and reduced costs, thereby strengthening product competitiveness.

Kim Sung-won, who has overseen global operations for the Small and Medium-Sized Display Business Division, was promoted to vice president for his achievements in optimizing the global fab and module supply chain, which improved production efficiency.

In the research and development (R&D) sector, Baek Seung-in, head of the CAE Team at the Display Research Institute, was promoted to vice president for his role in developing display optical characteristic analysis tools and establishing an AI-based automated measurement platform, which led to reduced development costs and improved productivity.

Additionally, Jang Sang-min, head of the P Technology Team at the Small and Medium-Sized Display Business Division, and Choi Yeon-su, head of SDD Corporation, were promoted to vice president in recognition of their contributions to improving photo process yields and ensuring stable mass production of tablet and automotive displays.

Samsung Display expanded its pool of management candidates by appointing vice presidents in their 40s and executive directors in their 30s, regardless of age, based on growth potential and capabilities.

Notably, Jung Kyung-ho, head of the Module Development Team at the Small and Medium-Sized Display Business Division, was recognized for leading the development of high-durability foldable components, enabling the timely mass production of the 'Galaxy Z Fold7 and Flip7.' Ha Dong-wan, head of the Design Research Team at the Display Research Institute, was commended for spearheading circuit development for OLEDoS panels used in Galaxy XR devices.

The company also increased the promotion of female leaders. Anna Lee, head of the Analysis Technology Team at the Display Research Institute, advanced analysis technologies to support the expansion of new product lines such as OLEDoS and 8.6-generation IT displays. Jang Ha-yeon, head of the IP Team at the Legal Office, contributed to enhancing business competitiveness by addressing patent and licensing issues.

With the completion of the 2026 regular executive appointments, Samsung Display will soon finalize its organizational restructuring and personnel assignments.
