(Seoul=Yonhap Infomax) Yong Bi Yang = Buffett Seoul, a South Korean fitness startup, announced on the 25th that it has secured 10 billion won ($7.5 million) in Series B funding.
The round saw participation from seven investors, including existing backers Kakao Ventures and BA Partners. New investors joining this round include Murex Partners, Gravity PE, FuturePlay, and Ilsin Venture Capital. In addition, a major construction company participated as a strategic investor.
With this latest round, Buffett Seoul’s total funding has surpassed 20 billion won ($15 million), marking the largest cumulative investment among domestic fitness startups.
Buffett Seoul operates two main brands: ‘Buffett Ground’, a fitness space brand built around a rewards ecosystem, and ‘Team Buffett’, a community-based team training brand. The company’s platform integrates various fitness offerings—including personal training and group workouts—within a single space, and features a data-driven rewards system for users.
Over the past year, Buffett Ground has established itself as a key tenant in major commercial buildings such as Gwanghwamun SFC, Magok One Grove, and Gangnam GFC. The company plans to launch a new wellness building brand in collaboration with a global sports brand in March next year.
Alongside its offline expansion, Buffett Seoul is broadening its customer touchpoints through its online platform. Its proprietary app offers workout tracking, community engagement, and exercise rewards, enabling an integrated online-offline fitness experience.
Jang Dong Wook, Director at Kakao Ventures, who has participated in all three investment rounds in Buffett Seoul, said, “Buffett Seoul has rapidly demonstrated brand competitiveness, operational efficiency, and scalability even in a challenging market environment. We decided to continue investing, recognizing its potential to drive structural transformation in the fitness industry.”
