ADP Says US Private Sector Employment Fell by Average 13,500 Per Week Over Past Four Weeks

(Seoul=Yonhap Infomax) Jung Won Yoon – Private sector employment in the United States declined by an average of 13,500 jobs per week over the past four weeks, according to preliminary data released by ADP.

On the 25th (local time), private employment data provider ADP reported that, for the four weeks ending November 8, preliminary estimates show US private sector employment decreased by an average of 13,500 jobs per week.

This signals a slowdown in the US labor market at the start of this month.

Nela Richardson, chief economist at ADP, noted that job creation may be delayed or reduced as the Thanksgiving holiday period approaches, adding that questions remain regarding the strength of consumer demand.

ADP also stated that these figures are preliminary and may be revised as new data becomes available.
