Trump Says Russia-Ukraine Peace Deal 'Very Close—Clear Progress Made'

(New York=Yonhap Infomax) Jin Woo Choi, Correspondent = U.S. President Donald Trump stated on the 25th (local time) that a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine is "very close," adding, "We will see how it unfolds."

Speaking at the White House Thanksgiving turkey pardon ceremony, President Trump said, "In nine months, I have ended eight wars, and I am working to resolve the last one," referring to ongoing efforts to broker peace between Russia and Ukraine.

He acknowledged the challenges, noting, "It's not easy, but we will get it done in the end. I originally thought the war would end sooner, but there has definitely been progress."
