[New York Stock Market - First Report]M7 Rally Leaves Out Nvidia as Markets Close Higher

(New York=Yonhap Infomax) Jeong Ho Jin – The three major U.S. stock indices closed higher on Tuesday.

Although the session opened with a sharp decline due to deteriorating investor sentiment toward Nvidia Corp., buying interest quickly returned on renewed optimism surrounding the artificial intelligence (AI) sector.

However, both Nvidia Corp. and Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD) failed to recover from their losses by the close, highlighting a divergence in sentiment even within the AI theme.

As of the close on June 25 (U.S. Eastern Time) at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 663.93 points, or 1.43%, to finish at 47,112.39.

The S&P 500 Index gained 60.77 points, or 0.91%, to 6,765.89, while the Nasdaq Composite advanced 153.59 points, or 0.67%, to 23,025.59.
